Got the carnitas and al pastor tacos. Probably the best tacos I’ve ever had. The sauces it comes with are also really good. More meat in the carnitas compared to al pastor, but it was slightly drier so needed to add a bit of the extra sauce it came with.

Absolutely delicious birria tacos! The meat was super tender and juicy, and topped with fresh onions and cilantro. The green salsa on the tacos also complemented the savouriness of the meat. The consomme was super flavourful as well. Service was quick and the inside of the restaurant has a really fun, rustic Mexican vibe. Unfortunately there’s not a lot of seating space, but the interior still has a lot of charm. Definitely will be returning!

If you’re in Kensington Market, you CANNOT leave without going to Tacos 101. I met with Julio today who was so sweet, and got myself a Birra taco and the whole way afterwards I’ve been hating myself for not getting two. Mexican Food, simply does not get better than this. Everything is made by hand, in front of you, it’s the best flavour bomb money buys. For my one taco with tip cost me less that 15! This is THE place for tacos.

My favourite pastor in the city, and one of the few that actually knows how to cook pastor. It is a very small taqueria but I really recommend to go and try it, their tacos and other Mexican street food is very good. The esquites are the best of the best in the city, only place that has authentic white corn and is prepared like in Mexico. I also recommend the mangonada during summer, very refreshing but can be a bit bland, needs to improve the taste. I just think that they have to improve their tamales, are very small with little taste and filling, for the price I won’t get them again. Other than that, very affordable and delicious tacos in Toronto.
